An International Festival of Ceramics
June 27, 28 & 29 2008

The fourth “Ceramics South East” will take place on the above dates in the beautiful setting of The Friars, Aylesford, near Maidstone Kent. In 2007 100 potters, sculptors and ceramic artists came together in a market style event to sell their work. Despite the appalling weather spirits remained high and the majority of participants enjoyed good sales. Most of potters who returned the exhibitor questionnaire have asked that we continue with our existing format; market stalls and covered open mini marquees, thus retaining our own identity and atmosphere, and keeping the costs down. Already half of the 2007 exhibitors have rebooked, and so we again expect to be oversubscribed for the 2008 event. The cost for 2008 will be £240. Very good value, compared to most craft related events. Applications are invited from potential exhibitors, please complete the application form . Deadline for applications is December 31st 2007. You will be notified by the middle of January latest . A deposit of £60 will confirm your participation, and the balance due 6 weeks prior to the event.

The festival takes place in The Private Garden, a quiet walled area surrounded by trees. The large outdoor shrine is adjacent to the site, and the historic buildings of the priory create a beautiful and peaceful setting.

The market stalls are 4mtrs x 1.2 mtrs. With overhanging roof front and back. White canopy. The mini marquees described as `open spaces` measure 3mtrs x 3mtrs. We prefer potters with larger scale works to request these areas. Where space permits participants in these areas can spread out onto the grass.
There is camping on site, and we provide showers. B & B is also available in the priory buildings. Potters supper on the Saturday night.
